We begin by opening the nominations on March 6th, 2023. Everyone (including you!) can nominate an inspiring person from the tech industry in only one (1) from 11 categories. All you need to select the category and fill the nomination form!
We collect the nominations until midnight April 9th, 2023. After the deadline, the short list of nominees will be selected from all of the received nominations during the nomination period. Our Judges committee will select 3 finalists per each category.
The Judges committee will be voting to choose confidentially 1 final winner per category, which will be announced on AWITA 2023 Gala event on 12th of May, 2023.
Entrants must meet the following criteria to qualify:
Each written submission should be 600-1000 words, in case of “Inclusive employer of the Year” the submission should be 1000-2500 words
The inclusive employer of the year will be doing industry-leading work in building an atmosphere in which a diverse workforce can thrive and prosper. This being the Women in IT Awards, the emphasis of this success will be on building an environment that promotes the talents of women. Judges will assess the impact of company and how successful it has been based on its tangible results in closing the gender gap and promoting diversity in company. If you’re supporting diversity and inclusion and passionate about promoting gender equality in your company, this award is for you.
A female FOUNDER, CEO or CIO, CTO who has demonstrated innovation, IT excellence and leadership. Judges will consider projects and achievements spanning the current organization or others if applicable, along with examples of best practice, leadership, ROI generated and alignment to business goals. The important thing is you’re working at the forefront of Tech company doing incredible things, inspiring your organization and standing out.
Distinguished women with a recognized contribution to the field of TECH in rural or remote areas. (Based on non-metropolitan classified areas per the Rural, Remote and Areas, i.e. areas where the urban centre population is less than 100,000.)
Distinguished women working in a state agency or other public-sector institution promoting and implementing digital transformation in public-sector. A woman who daily works in IT or innovation related projects by enhancing professionalism, motivating other public servants to sustain the innovations and improvement of the delivery of public services in the most effective, transparent and technological way. The nominee should present an innovative idea, a distinctively new approach, a unique policy, and technology implemented or other significant TECH related input.
This is awarded to a woman in academia (university, school, college) who has made an outstanding contribution to technology and whose work has made or has the potential to make a significant long-term impact. This could include using technology to enhance and support research and teaching, achieving technological breakthroughs or leveraging one’s position to significantly encourage more talent into tech. Nominee should present a project, describing how innovations and technology was implemented into educational process, subject, or any other education related activity.
A person in a digital position within Tech industry, who has demonstrated successful results in digital innovation. Digital transformation is a trend which has been sweeping across many Azerbaijani organizations in the past years. This award will go to the woman who leads a digital team, project, or department within her organization. Entrants should demonstrate the impact of their leadership, and of digital project or team on the wider business. Awarded to an individual that has raised the bar and serves as an example to the industry and has also demonstrated exceptional initiative to show that women are a significant part of a tech project’s success.
This is awarded to a female in a tech startup business that has growth potential. Nominations will be judged on potential and actual results achieved so far. This award will be handed to the founder or co-founder of a great start-up which has proven record of growth, innovation, and potential.
Awarded to honor a person who has provided significant support and guidance by empowering a less experienced women or girls to develop their skills in an IT or Technological field. As a result, the mentee has achieved vital knowledge growth and results in their field.
Is awarded to an individual who has made a meaningful and lasting contribution to the technological area of hardware and/or software design, development or integration and has achieved or was a part of outstanding projects, and who has developed solutions based on hardware and/or software platform ensuring technological integration of different IT components within the enterprise architecture.
This award will shine light on a student who’s strive and actions in Technology draws the path to a successful future. The Rising Star Award is for the most trailblazing young woman in IT. You may be a graduate scheme employee who has made an exceptionally strong impact in a short time, or a young manager or executive who is making waves through the business. Whoever you are, we want to hear your story, both to celebrate your success and as an inspiration for other women starting out in the IT industry.
A woman who has achieved something exceptional in the IT industry, chosen by the judges. This award will go the woman most deserving of recognition for her achievements in the tech industry. Her successes won’t necessarily fit neatly into any of the other categories and could even span several of them. She will be inspiring to others, and will have brought about significant success and change in her organization.
