An introductory meeting between the executive board of Public Association: Supporting Women in TECH — “FEMMES DIGITALES” and Aygun Aliyeva, the Executive Director of the Agency on State Support to Non-Governmental Organization was held on 24th August 2022.
“FEMMES DIGITALES” has presented various activities and projects have been held by the organisation since 2014. In co-operation with partners from governmental and private sectors, the public union had executed more than 100 programs with more than 5000 girls, women and young people engaged. Various programs such as “Schools Roadshow Program”, “ICT Training Program” were provided for schoolgirls, willing to continue their education in ICT, and for girls with communication disabilities.
Also, the executive board introduced “FEMMES 4 girls from regions and rural areas” program, which is hold on a charitable basis and attracted more than 600 girls from Masalli, Gabala, Guba, Shamakhi, Mingachevir, Baku and Lankaran.
Another, successful event series – The Women in IT Awards (AWITA), is the technology’s largest diversity event in Azerbaijan, which recognizes the achievements in innovations and technology of women and girls from all over Azerbaijan by identifying new role models and promoting further dialogue around diversity among industry influencers.
Mrs. Aygun Aliyeva introduced the Public Union with the fruitful activities of the agency, and various projects carried out by the agency in cooperation with various Azerbaijani NGOs and international organizations.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the opportunities to collaborate in the national and international projects, which are crucial for women empowerment in TECH industry, with aim to increase the involvement and participation of girls and women in this field.
Members of the Association board highly appreciated the activities of the agency and expressed their gratitude for the fruitful meeting. “FEMMES DIGITALES” looks forward for successful cooperation and to actively participate in the events held by the agency.
