The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Public Association: Supporting Women in TECH — “FEMMES DIGITALES” and the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF on May, 2022. The memorandum reflects the cooperation in areas of information and communication technologies (ICT), women leadership, women empowerment in ICT, promotion of entrepreneurship among women from Azerbaijan and the OIC at large, as well as science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) related educational programs.
The main objective of Public Association: Supporting Women in TECH — “FEMMES DIGITALES”, which operates in Azerbaijan and cooperates with a number of European countries, is to support women activities in the field of business, especially ICT. For the last 8 years “FEMMES DIGITALES” in co-operation with other partners have organised more than 100 events with more than 5000 girls, women and young people were motivated, inspired and encouraged. “Schools Roadshow” program is organized to make IT attractive for 9-11 grade school girls and inspire them to continue their education in ICT. Various training programs including “ICT Training Program” were provided for girls with communication (speaking and hearing) disabilities. The series of events “FEMMES 4 girls from regions and rural areas” are held on a charitable basis and more than 600 girls from various regions of Azerbaijan have participated in these sessions in Masalli, Gabala, Guba, Shamakhi, Mingachevir, and Lankaran. The Women in IT Awards (AWITA), technology’s largest diversity event in Azerbaijan organized by “FEMMES DIGITALES”, showcases the achievements and innovation of women in technology with identifying new role models and promoting further dialogue around diversity among industry influencers. The council members of “FEMMES DIGITALES” organize summer camps; annual “ITU International Girls in ICT Day”; represent the organization on public events in Azerbaijan and abroad and perform many others activities.
One of the main activity directions of ICYF-ERC is to support youth entrepreneurship within the OIC, especially, Eurasian region. For more than 10 years ICYF-ERC and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan annually co-organizing the Kazan OIC Youth Entrepreneurship Forum. Muslim young entrepreneurs from OIC countries and non-OIC member states are coming up with startup projects and getting opportunities for the financing by investors in the future.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Founder and Chairwoman of Public Association: Supporting Women in TECH — “FEMMES DIGITALES” Ms. Jana Krimpe and Acting Director General of ICYF-ERC Mr. Vusal Gurbanov. According to the MoU, selected group of Muslim young women from the Eurasian region will be involved in mentoring and training courses.
