On May 21, 2022, “Supporting Women in TECH” – “FEMMES DIGITALES” Public Union held the traditional 6th regional event with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the Ministry of Education. The primary purpose of these events is to popularize ICT sector and attract Azerbaijani girls from the rural regions to the field of information and communication technologies. The series of events are held on a charitable basis and more than 600 girls from various regions of Azerbaijan have participated in these sessions.
More than 70 schoolgirls from various schools of Lankaran city and its surrounding villages participated in the event held at the Khazar Palace Hotel along with “FEMMES DIGITALES” members – women, who are leading managers and ICT specialists of Azerbaijan.
At the first part of event, the founders of “FEMMES DIGITALES” introduced the girls the fundamentals of startups, and the phases the formation and implementation of innovative ideas using information technol
ogy. At the second stage, schoolgirls as part of teams presented their innovative projects and a plan for their implementation. On the practical session, STEP IT Academy mentors introduced the essentials of coding and robotics to the girls.
Upon completion of the event, all schoolgirls and teachers were awarded diplomas and memorable presents with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and PASHA Bank.
The regional conference was sponsored and supported by the founders of “FEMMES DIGITALES”, government agencies and private companies: “AzInTelecom LLC” under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, PASHA Bank, ABAD, STEP IT Academy, B.EST Solutions, BLOOM Group, Fominov Consulting , Cybernet, DOST Agency, MONT, Baku European Lyceum.
